Our selection now spreads over four pages, and includes three
maps and nearly thirty views.
With two exceptions, the views are reproduced from the famous
series by William Henry Bartlett, The Scenery and Antiquities of Ireland, published in 1841. These are really delightful engravings, many with a misty, romantic effect that evokes their subjects most effectively. They are, in addition, a very valuablehistorical record of an Ireland that was soon to vanish with the
disaster of the Great Famine. All are reproduced on heavyweight A4 paper, with
an approximate image size of 7"x5" (175mm x 125mm).
Our range of maps is currently limited to a series of charts of
ports and harbours published by Fullarton in the 1850s, reproduced on heavyweight
A3 Super paper (13"x19"/329mm x 483mm) with an approximate image size
of 16"x12" (410mm x 310mm). This is an enlargement of 100% over the
originals, allowing the detail to be more easily appreciated.
We are looking to expand this range considerably in the future, so if you do not find what you require today, please bookmark this page and come
back in a little while. Alternatively, if there is a map or view you are particularly
keen to have, let us know and we shall try to find it and add it to our list.
