DRESDEN: drawn and engraved by J. Dower, of Pentonville, London, and published by Orr & Smith, Amen Corner, Paternoster Row, London. A lovely map dating from the early 1830s, very finely engraved, with a small inset view of the Zvinger Palace, the Catholic Cathedral and the Elbe Bridge from Neustadt.

Another lovely map, with small engravings of the city’s principal buildings along its bottom edge (Prince Antoni’s Villa, the Belvedere, Sugar Manufactory, Castle, Christ Church, the Frauen Church, the Catholic Church, the Elbe Bridge, the Zwinger Palace, the Japanese Palace, Prussian Embassy, the Block House, and Prince Maximilian’s Villa).

DER UNTERE THEIL DESZU PREUSSEN GEHORIGEN HERZOGTHUMS POMERELLEN MIT DEM NETZLANDE: printed in Germany, engraver and publisher unknown, date probably c.1794 —but see comments on sample map for more detail. Included here for historical interest, as the parts of East Prussia it covers are now in Poland. Original 11" x 9" (275mm x 225mm), with scales in Prussian and German miles. A very attractive map, and, we believe, something of a rarity.
