NORWICH. Original c.1850, by G. H. Swanston, published by
Fullartons. Dating is approximate the railways have arrived, and
there are several obviously new streets to the north-west, between the Earlham
and Heigham roads; or rather, their courses, for no houses have been built. Original
9" x 6.5" (22.5 x 16.5cm) like all of Swanstons maps, the
engraving is of a very fine standard which allows (and indeed benefits from) considerable
enlargement.

NORWICH 1807, from The Beauties of England.
Engraved by J. Roper, from a survey by Thornton, and published
by Vernor, Hood & Sharp of Poultry, London. Includes small
inset engravings of the city arms and St. Ethelberts Gate,
and references to the churches and principal buildings. A really
fine, highly-detailed map, made all the easier to appreciate by
being considerably enlarged.
