Our selection now spreads over two pages, and includes eight maps
and eight views.
The maps include reproductions of the superb copper engravings
from Rapins History of England. We currently have maps of Ath,
Menin, Namur, Tournai and Ypres available, and are on the look-out for more. New
additions to the range are 1830s town plans of Amsterdam and Brussels reproduced
from fine originals originally published in England by the Society for the Diffusion
of Useful Knowledge, plans of Antwerp and Ghent, from later in the nineteenth-century,
and an excellent 1843 SDUK map of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Most of the views are reproduced from original steel engravings
of drawings by Thomas Allom, W. H. Bartlett, V. Bing (including the attractive
view of Beek shown above), and Samuel Prout.
Unless stated otherwise, all prints are on fine-quality heavyweight
(135gsm-170gsm) A4 paper, with an image size of approximately 7.5" x 5"/190mm
x 130mm , in most cases representing a slight increase on that of the originals.
