Maps 2-7 are superficially similar in many respects, but there are
many detail differences which reflect the state of European knowledge about the
geography of the Far East (which included, as far as some geographers of the time
were concerned, Australia) 17901860. 10 and 11, although not decorative
in the way that the others are, are very fine maps and valuable historical documents.
Unless otherwise stated, all maps are reproduced on heavyweight
A3 Super paper (13"x19"/329mm x 483mm). In most instances, this represents
a significant increase in size over the originals. Most views are reproduced on
A4 paper, with an approximate image size of 7"x5" (175mm x 125mm).
