DUTCH GUAYANA OR SURINAM: the original, by Bartholomew, is taken from British Admiralty surveys and a Dutch government map, and dates from about 1880. Small (9" x 5.5"/40mm x 140mm), but very highly detailed, it shows the colonised area: two insets, a street plan of the capital, Paramaribo, and a sketch showing the full extent of the colony. Our reproduction, enlarged to almost twice the size of the original, allows this detail to be examined far more easily.

JAMAICA (Swanston, printed by Fullarton, Edinburgh, c. 1885). A delightful small map (9" x 5.5"/40mm x 140mm). It appears to be an earlier engraving revised to show the railway from Kingston and Old Harbour to Porus (opened 1885). Very highly detailed—our reproduction, enlarged to almost twice the size of the original, allows this to be appreciated far more easily.

JAMAICA. This and CSA13 below are reproduced from two delightful little Victorian maps, published by Longmans c. 1870 and engraved by Edward Weller. The maps are framed above and below with illustrations of tropical flora.

We feel that enlarging these maps would mean their charm would be lost, so they are reproduced at their orinal sixe of 190mm x110mm (7.5" x 4.3", on heavyweight matte A4 paper.
